    A citizen is a member of a country, nation, city, or town. Citizens of the United States live in a democratic country. This means that they elect leaders to carry out their wishes.
    In a democratic country, citizen have the power to change the laws or to make new ones. Besides, they have freedom of religion, speech, the press and to gather together in public. In addition, they have right to vote that can choose the best leaders ourselves. They also have is the right to speak freely and share their thoughts with other people.Moreover, citizens also have responsibilities. Firstly, they must to pay taxes.Secondly, we must serve in the armed force. Thirdly, they must respect the rights of others.
    In order to be a good citizen, we should read newspapers and watch the news, pay more attention to social issue. Good citizen gets involved to the community, making the society a better place to live in. Those are the best ways to show their patriotism.
    I want to be a good citizen.
