Radio Television Hong Kong Stage Makeup Classroom Recording

Cantonese opera is a cultural treasure of the Lingnan region, embodying the essence of performing arts. In order to enhance students' understanding of this traditional cultural art form, the counseling team of our school accepted an invitation from Radio Television Hong Kong's Radio 5 program "Stage Makeup Classroom" and participated in a recording activity in collaboration with the Chinese History and History departments. On that day, the radio station invited renowned Cantonese opera performers Mr. Lai Yiu Wai and Ms. Wong Bo Huan as guest speakers, who also had an impromptu demonstration of Cantonese opera makeup, allowing students to get acquainted with this art form that was included in the first batch of national-level intangible cultural heritage representative list in 2006 and the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009.

During the event, our students actively participated, enthusiastically respond the guests' and hosts' questions, and even took part in the makeup session, applying powder to the models. After the activity, all the students expressed that the experience was very interesting and had broadened their horizons.

The related program will be broadcasted on Radio Television Hong Kong's Radio 5 program "The World of Chinese Opera."
