I'm Lee Shing Hei from class 5D. Today I'm going to talk about the impacts of the 15th National Games on society.
First of all, as the National Games involve almost all regions of China, which allows athletes from different regions to join the competitions. This provides a chance for athletes to meet other competitors, learn from each other and polish their skills.
As a major event in China, it brings the youth closer because schools are highly encouraged to bring students to watch the competitions. Thanks to the live broadcast, this may attract the general public, especially the youngsters to play sports and become one of the athletes who can participate in different competitions in the future.
What is more, the promotion of National Games also benefits society immensely. With the extensive media coverage, this event can attract a multitude of people. It emphasized not only competition but also cultural exchange, tourism and regional cooperation. It symbolized unity and integration.
Last but not least, the National Games can attract a host of tourists to come and watch the competitions, bringing in not only the business but also job opportunities by boosting infrastructure projects, tourism, event management and related industries. Shops selling Games-related souvenirs and branded merchandise also blossom as a result.
